SEQU3l – Timelapse Remixes [Juicebox Music]

Praveen Achary's Juicebox Music injects new life into SEQU3l's 'Timelapse' EP with new interpretations from Matter and Ziger. Originally released in October of 2016 it was the Indian's imprints most successful offering of the year, with the 'Timelapse' original mix reaching #13 in the Progressive House tracks chart and the EP climbing all the way to #2. Add to that, the praise of Above & Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo, John 00 Fleming, Max Graham, Petar Dundov and Roger Martinez and you've got one of the year's most memorable progressive house releases. Choosing remixers for such a project is something you want to do with great care and Juicebox has made excellent choices with Matter and Ziger taking the reins.

I've been a fan of Matter since his early work on Underphunk Recordings dating back to 2010. Relatively unknown to the progressive house world at the time it was a string of productions for Stellar Fountain which really opened people's eyes to this great talent. Now four years on he's become loved for his driving, hypnotic sounds and delivered an excellent rendition of 'Timelapse'. It's one of those tracks where you get locked into the flow right away; it's meditative pulse and gentle recreation of the lead motif is a lesson in restraint, before it really opens up with soaring lines during an epic third act finale. Big remix from Matter!

Closing the release out is Ziger who returns to the label following his 'Razor' single released in November of 2015. The Greek artist owns a well kept discography with appearances on Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, Tash's Movement Recordings and John Johnson's ICONYC. He's stayed true to the progressive house sound since his debut in 2009 and become one of Greece's most recognized artists in the genre as a result. Here he remakes 'Still Moments In Everyday Life' in his own inimitable style and closes the release out very strong. The rhythmic groove immediately grabs your attention as galloping arps and detailed percussion bring waves of energy. Already quite epic, a warm atmospheric overlay foreshadows the lead which becomes fully realized during the break, expertly building to an electric finale. Definitely some goose bump moments in the making on this one. A great remix from Ziger and another solid release from Praveen Achary's Juicebox Music. Highly Recommended.
