Matter – Pronoia (BC Edition) [Balkan Connection]

Balkan Connection returns this week showcasing the latest instalment in its Edition series. Chosen for the spotlight is Matter's excellent 'Pronoia' which was originally released on Proton Music in December of last year. It's distinctive groove and intelligent melodies proved impactful as the track now sits atop his Beatport best sellers. Now set for two new interpretations Balkan Connection invites Tech D and Subconscious Tales to reinvent the track for the summer of 2017.

Tech D has been a staple of the Balkan Connection roster in recent years now making his 12th appearance. The Ukrainian artist provides a deep and musical rendition of 'Pronoia' that likely sits as his best ever remix. From deep and hypnotic beginnings comes something profoundly beautiful. As vocal elements flow through the framework oriental melodies rise, tanatalizing the senses before a smooth rush into the third act paves the road home.

The release concludes with Subconscious Tales returning to the label for his 13th appearance. The Latvian artist got the year off to a great start with his 'Journey' EP, also courtesy of Balkan Connection. The four track offering reached #14 in Beatport's Progressive House chart while 3 of the 4 selections also made their way into the top 100 tracks chart. Now returning to what would have to be considered his home label Subconscious Tales closes the release out with a great rendition of 'Pronoia'. The tempo comes up nicely here as percussive waves and rolling rhythms bind a strong framework. Gentle acid hooks carry nicely through the main break before a rush of white noise cements the rhythmic core once more. A superb remix from Subconscious Tales which rounds out another successful installment in Balkan Connection's 'Edition' series.
