Teleport-X – Cosmico [Dopamine White]

Opening the month of March, Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Teleport-X to the label for his debut single. Based in Argentina, Teleport-X first emerged in 2018 with a string of releases for Russia's Polyptych. The Buenos Aires resident found success quickly, earning play and support from progressive music tastemaker Hernan Cattaneo, while landing releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Deepwibe Underground, Droid9 and Mango Alley. Now continuing on an upwards trajectory, Teleport-X debuts on Dopamine White with 'Cosmico', alongside a remix from Tuxedo.

The release begins with the original mix which finds Teleport-X drawing on the melodic sensibilities of his repertoire. It's warm groove commands a big presence from the outset, adorned with flickering percussion and rolling pulses to drive momentum forward. Cosmic effects steal the air, building anticipation as colourful overlays begin to surface, bringing emotional depth to the journey before initiating a heartfelt break. Soaring melodies and hopeful atmospherics marry beautifully across the expansive interlude, building emotion with each successive pass, before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and groovy finale.

The release concludes with Tuxedo returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Cosmico'. With a career that spans well over a decade, the Polish artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases via John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings, Balkan Connection, Mango Alley, Movement Recordings and his own Electronic Tree imprint. The Gdansk resident has also gained considerable acclaim for his collaborative project Fluente. Operating in conjunction with fellow countryman Monojoke, the duo has showcased their work on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound. Having made his Dopamine White debut just a few short weeks ago with his 'Wield' single, Tuxedo returns to the label with a groovy take on 'Cosmico'. Opting for a deeper approach, the Polish radically revamps the track with a roomier, funk-laden groove, spacious percussive arrangements and a quirky lead theme which offers swing heavy appeal. A short break serves to transition the journey into a stripped down second act, building on the strength of Tuxedo's retro-stabs and whimsical design, before giving way to a finale that is both deep and cosmic. Always a creative remixer, Tuxedo completes the release in fine style, paving the way for a bevy of anticipated projects for himself, Teleport-X and Dopamine White. Highly recommended.
