Raffo – Afterbeam EP [Polyptych Noir]

Raffo joins the ranks of Polyptych Noir with a magnificent three-track melodic techno EP.

An emerging force within the melodic scene, Raffo is a Zurich-based DJ and producer whose style combines powerful percussion with rapturous synths.

This three-track EP is Raffo’s debut release on Polyptych Noir, adding to a catalogue that also includes music on Natura Viva Black and Phobiq.

He is a masterful producer whose dancefloor-oriented style would fit nicely within the DJ sets of people like Tale Of Us and Miss Monique.

The opening track, “Breathe Of Life”, builds tension as gliding pads fade in, while a rolling bassline underpins its framework of flowing percussion.  Its defining feature is the haunting male vocal that fills the track with tantalising emotion.

Next up, “In You” has fluttering bass tones and soaring pads intertwined with whispering vocals. It’s an understated track with a chic vibe and masterful sound design.

Closing proceedings is the title track, “Afterbeam”. It’s an epic production combining cascading melodies with rhythmic stabs and solid percussion. Its gripping vocal completes the spellbinding ensemble of this instant classic.
