Releases Rick Pier O’Neil – Glade (Martin Merkel Remix) [Yang] By Release Promo Posted on 18th April 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Tripp Baronner’s concept inprint Yang revives Rick Pier O’Neil’s ‘Glade’ with a brand new remix from Martin Merkel. Originally released in November of 2017 as part of Rick’s ‘One Side of the Underground’ Vol. 1 collection it showcased the French artist at his cutting edge best. Now as 2018 enters it’s spring season Yang invites Martin Merkel to reinvent the track. The German artist has been hotly tipped of late with his ‘Constantin’ album getting released on Platipus in February. His attention to detail is second to none and he’s artist I’d certainly like to see with more opportunities to shine. Abundantly creative, Martin takes ‘Glade’ into heady territory with a range of emotions from brooding to melancholic. On a backbone of tough beats and rippling bass tones comes mystical atmospheres and squelchy synths. There is a subtle but utterly captivating narrative here, building slowly, with care and precision, before a shift in energy brings a broken beat section which highlights the piece for me. A brilliant remix from Martin and let’s hope that 2018 is filled with more productions from this excellent artist. A great addition to the Yang roster by Tripp Baronner.
