Martin Fredes – Burning Eclipse [RKP]

As a rising force in the progressive music landscape, Martin Fredes makes his debut on Ruben Karapetyan’s RKP with ‘Burning Eclipse’. With Argentine and Italian roots, producer/DJ Martin Fredes currently calls Spain home. The Barcelona resident has enjoyed a meteoric rise since first emerging with a release via Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden in 2022. The next two calendar years would see Martin establish himself as a fresh talent to watch, recording subsequent projects for Clubsonica, onedotsixtwo, SLC-6 Music, Traful and his own Starlight Music Group imprint. Also an accomplished DJ, Martin’s sets are beloved for their story-like qualities and impeccable track selection, traits which have seen him perform at venues across the globe, most notably Pacha (Barcelona), Cova Santa (Ibiza) and Colorado Charlie (Netherlands). With 2025 getting underway with a well-received remix for Transensations, Martin now adds RKP to his resume with ‘Burning Eclipse’.

The title selection finds Martin collaborating with Sri Lankan born, Australia based talent Kazko. Paired together for the first time, the cross-continental duo masterfully synthesize their creative talents for a proper peak time affair. Wrapped in a modern club-effective blueprint are obsessive rhythms, hyperspace vocal fragments and acid-like motifs, while thunderous kick drums and momentous grooves keep the gas decisively ‘on’. Flexing their craftsmanship further across the break, it’s a bubbly melodic theme which steals the air, before a siren-like build ushers in a charged finale.

The companion piece finds Martin and Argentinean artist Leandro Murua combining their extensive forces on the anthemic ‘Wider’. Although a first time collaboration, the duo’s creative synergy is strong, in turn forecasting warm inviting basslines, nostalgic melodies and hopeful pads. A strong sense of calm resides in the primary theme, one which gets further explored across a frayed, effects-laden break, before opening back up for an arms raised, eyes closed conclusion.
