On the strength of past releases for Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Madloch's 3rd Avenue and Sabb's Radiant, the Russian artist made his Juicebox Music debut in February of this year with the well received 'Tension' single. Backed by remixes from Aman Anand and Monojoke, it has been a highlight in the Saint Petersburg resident's 2021 discography. Now continuing to build a bond with the Indian imprint, Jiminy returns for a three track artist showcase entitled 'Summered'. Although widely regarded as a progressive house producer, Jiminy is far from a typical one. His melodic creations often drift into organic or poppier territory, the latter of which has seen him land projects on Amsterdam powerhouse Songspire. With the 'Summered' collection Jiminy has readied three cuts that sound perfectly dialed for the impending summer club season. As the world slowly opens back up these three beauties land at what is seemingly the perfect time. From the buoyant energy and colourful cascades of the title selection, to the whimsical flair and rolling drive of 'Desire', it's clear Jiminy has book-ended the release with a sound that is all his own. Meanwhile, 'Contemplation' sits at the heart of the project with it's good natured, flirtatious charm; once again showing Hop's affinity for blending bold club grooves and stirring melodic concepts. With three hugely memorable tracks like these this is a release where a remix EP would be an exciting prospect.
