The UK artist has been quiet this year following a 2017 which included releases on Selador and Global Underground. Han’s new single ‘Genetic Drift’ will certainly be a pleasant surprise for his fans and also includes two smashing remixes from MayDan and Danny Lloyd. Known for his pristine production quality, ‘Genetic Drift’ will only add to that lore. Filled with twisted, metallic melodies the first act sets a large presence. A rolling, beast of a groove sits at the foundation, adding a menacing growl before the main break unleashes a main theme that’s sure to bring the house down. Epic and full of old school flavour this is one for the pure progressive aficionados out there. The first remix is supplied by label A&R MayDan who is fresh off his ‘White Gold’ single on Sudbeat. The Israeli artist sticks quite close to the narrative of the original but with more of a techno inspired groove sitting as the track’s backbone. The main theme however is left out in favour of a more rhythmic approach with the metallic hooks sitting in the spotlight throughout. The release concludes with a remix from Danny Lloyd who is making his third appearance on the label. The Italian artist capped off a successful 2017 with a remix for Nikko.Z’s Dopamine Music and now presents his first production of 2018 here. Danny is loved throughout the progressive underground for his smooth grooves and effortless flow which is exactly what he brings to ‘Genetic Drift’. The tempo comes down and the edge comes off for what results in a mix full of reflective qualities. It rounds the release out on an emotive note and adds depth to the project as well.
