OT – Rainbow Relations [Golden Wings Music]

OT makes his debut on Golden Wings Music this week with a brand new EP entitled ‘Rainbow Relations’. The Egyptian artist made his mark on the progressive underground with an appearance on ICONYC’s ‘Elements Tokyo’ collection, released in November of last year. Now making his much anticipated debut on Golden Wings, OT presents the first artist showcase of his career.

Spread across four tracks it’s the title piece which gets the EP underway. A pure progressive construction from the outset, it’s a piece driven by a powerful low end and catchy electronics. The main break however presents a deadly lead, as an arpy wav shifts the narrative into something more hypnotic before the groove drops for a smooth finish. The second selection ‘Settle’ lowers the tempo considerably for a laid back, funky yet quite musical affair. Playful melodies carry the narrative wonderfully, with an unpredictable ebb and flow spread across two breaks and a gorgeous second act.

The EP’s third offering finds OT collaborating with Basel Aly on ‘Lending Souls’. We move back into dance floor territory here with a tough, punchy groove and astral effects. Again a strong arp shines during the breakdown, wonderfully processed for maximum mental stimulation before getting washed away for a stripped back portion of the groove. The release concludes with 'Red Red Moon' which comes in as the most melodic of the collection. Classic chord progression carries the musical narrative into a gorgeous break where the addition of a top line adds a unique almost quirky flair to what is otherwise a very heartfelt creation. It rounds out a lovely EP from OT who is no doubt a name you'll be hearing a lot more about in the future. Highly Recommended.
