Guy J & Clarian – Night Rescue [Lost & Found]

Lost & Found continues a strong summer season with a fresh collaboration from label boss Guy J and Clarian. The latter, a renowned musician and Montreal native has long been one of electronic music's most fascinating artists. His fresh, organic and masterfully creative productions have found a home on Anjunadeep, Balance, Life & Death, Kompakt, microCastle, Turbo Recordings and Felix Da Housecat's Founders of Filth, where he seems to have found a comfortable collaborative home. Meanwhile Malta resident and Lost & Found boss Guy J has continued to travel the world where his unique track selection and exquisite programming skills have been mezmerizing crowds on a weekly basis. Add to that the release of his 'Synthopia' EP earlier this year, which is widely regarded as 2019's best progressive house release. Now in what would seem to be an improbable alliance, Clarian and Guy unite for the much anticipated 'Night Rescue'.

Both Guy and Clarian are much loved for their exploration of all things musically emotive. The meeting of two such creative minds is always an exciting prospect and they deliver a stunning creation here. Coming in delightfully smooth, it’s a deep, soulful and incredibly charming eight minute journey. Warm, perfectly contoured bass tones bring a buoyant vibe to the foundation, while haunting motifs and wispy atmospheres adorn the sultry, irresistible groove. Fluttery melodic concepts further advance the narrative in a subtle yet impassioned way, as waves of exotic percussion trail through the framework like sonic dust. Timeless and heartfelt, it's a piece that accomplishes a lot emotionally, but not in an overt or obvious way. Definitely one for the more astute listener and no doubt a future dance floor classic. Highly recommended.
