Vhaera makes her debut on the fast rising Almar imprint with 'Harmattan'. Although just two years into her career, Israeli artist Vhaera is already beloved with a loyal and passionate fan base. She made significant strides early on as a DJ with DjaneTop crowning her as one of the best DJs of 2021 in the Middle East annual wrap-up. Across her homeland, the Tel Aviv resident has gigs on a weekly basis and has performed at the country's biggest venues such as The Block and more. Also well travelled, Vhaera has delighted crowds across Brazil and Ibiza as 2021 wound to a close. Trendsetters 'Radio Intense' have also taken a liking to Vhaera's sound, showcasing her work on their popular Youtube channel and Spotify playlists, while her previous releases have all found a healthy standing in Beatport's hugely influential sales charts. Now looking to take further steps as a producer, Vhaera follows on from the success of March's 'It's Time' with a three track showcase for Almar.

Through distinctive design Vhaera has carved out her own unique place in the underground. ‘Harmattan’ showcases this wonderfully with mysterious and deeply compelling architecture. Muscular grooves, hook heavy chord stabs and clattering percussion converge to form an energetic yet fluid dance floor minded journey. Led by a cross-cultural vocal which dominates an intense break, Vhaera effortless shifts energy through the productions seven minute running, ultimately landing with a ceremonial tinged finale.

The second selection ‘Sirocco’ comes in equally mesmerizing with a well carved groove and fluttery arps immediately grabbing your attention. Dark yet hopeful, its emotional range is vast, accentuated perfectly with devilish hooks and astral trails, before a cavernous break resets the groove for a mystical final movement.

The third and final selection ‘Welcome to the Middle East’ comes with a deeper and more introspective approach. Warm beats and placid overlays set a character rich mood early, with exotic drums and percolating effects only adding to its esoteric charm. Once again following the EP's lean towards middle eastern motifs, a haunting vocal phrase guides the piece into an astral sounding break, furthering the narrative, as symphonic synths rise for a colourful crescendo and buzzing drop. With the full EP currently sitting at #27 in Beatport's best selling progressive house releases you know it's one not to miss. This is an excellent artist showcase from Vhaera, which not only makes for an impressive debut on Almar but sets the stage for a breakout year as 2022 approaches it's summer season. Highly recommended.
