Nature Rec opens the spring season by presenting the second installment of their VA series. Landing in December of 2020, the inaugural edition found the label exploring the progressive concept through four exclusive tracks from Arnold T & Alain Pauwels, Christian Monique, Dylan Deck & Shanil Alox and Andre Moret. Moving forward from what was just their second release, the label always manages to find that nice balance between organic and progressive house, as evidenced by support from everyone from Be Svendsen, Sabo and Tim Green to Nick Warren and Sasha. Now following on from the release of their Best of 2021 collection, Nature rec unveils the second installment of VA, this time with a more expansive approach, across seven exclusive tracks from Arnold T. & Alain Pauwels, Doriaan, STEREO MUNK & Dublew, Juanes Mesa, Lautaro Videla, NuFects and RYAN (CU).

Label regulars Arnold T. & Alain Pauwels get the release underway with 'Electro Nemo'. The formidable duo make their third Nature Rec appearance with a production that delights with it's tough, punchy foundation and light, airy melodies. A favourble contrast and one that's perfect for the dance floor or a headphone listening session. Next up is Mexican artist and label debutant Doriaan who provides one of the collection's standout tracks 'Inocencia'. A running narrative of Spanish vocals which loosely translated to English focuses on innocence vs ego, how someone driven by innocence enjoys every little thing in life as opposed to someone driven by ego, who’s always struggling to find peace. An apt message for our world today and delivered beautifully over top of Doriaan's whimsical melodies and exotic percussion. Continuing on an organic plane, STEREO MUNK & Dublew also impress with 'Tranquility', an effortless ride into chunky grooves and balmy atmospherics, which sound perfectly suited to a open air event. The collection's second debutant Juanes Mesa provides his latest studio creation 'Veruvel'. With a memorable EP for Onestar landing last year, the Colombian artist gets 2022 off to a great start with a nostalgic progressive track, complete with classic chord changes, rising atmospheres and a lovely childlike vocal sample which makes for an amazing breakdown.

Passing the release's halfway point now it's Lautaro Videla who also makes his label debut following releases on Droid9 and MNL. The Argentine's 'Alito' continues the collection's groovy atmospheric lean with glowing swells and pixie-like melodies, perfectly juxtaposed with tough beats and beefed up grooves. Scene veterans NuFects also make their label debut and provide the sixth selection 'Ancestors'. Now approaching their tenth year as production partners, the Colombian duo impress here with a variety of percussive concepts, progressive rhythms and striking electronics, all of which combine for what is likely the biggest sounding track on the release. Rounding out the release is beloved Cuban artist DJ Ryan who makes his label debut following releases for One Of A Kind and Transensations. The La Cura de la Semana label boss brings one of his best productions to date 'Natura Nurtura'. Suitably deeper than the previous selections, it's Mediterranean style rhythms and nature motifs marry well for a reflective seven minute journey that would work well as a set closer, and ultimately ends the release on a strong note. A stunning production from a rising talent who continues to surprise and impress, capping off an excellent second edition of Nature's VA series. Don't miss it.
