Tojogo – Floating Far From Shore [Stellar Fountain]

Stellar Fountain opens the new year by welcoming Tojogo back to the label for his first EP. UK based producer Tojogo first came to our attention last year with a contribution to 3rd Avenue's 'We Are The Future' compilation. A great starting point for many artists, it was a release which saw Tojogo go on to release projects via For Senses, Future Avenue, Soundteller Records and more. Also making his Stellar Fountain debut last year, Tojogo would remix 'Desai' by Mauro Masi & Julian Liander in fine style. Now, as 2023 begins, Tojogo makes a welcome return to the label with 'Floating Far From Shore', alongside remixes from Return To Saturn and Marley Hughes.

The title track lands with a nice array of organic and soulful qualities. A full, funked up groove and flickering percussive arrangements provide the backbone for a strong flute-like lead and glowing overlays to paint a bucolic inspired narrative. Its youthful musicality should make for an amazing mood on the dance floor and it never drifts over the right side of cool across its near eight minute running time. Meanwhile, the second original 'Tenaka' follows suit with a similarly balmy vibe. Plush chord stabs, soulful vocal phrasing and a charming array of colourful effects make for another blissful day time vibe. Gorgeous music from Tojogo which will certainly stand the test of time.

Making his label debut and providing the first remix of 'Floating Far From Shore' is Return To Saturn'. Hailing from Argentina, but now based in Germany, the Leipzig resident provides a smooth, free flowing rendition which makes great use of the original elements. A fuller, less voluptuous groove gives it a touch more of a progressive feel which should fare well in the morning hours.

The release concludes with Marley Hughes also making his label debut with the second and final interpretation of 'Floating Far From Shore'. Hailing from Australia, Marley delivers a lighter, more airy take on the track which complements the previous versions quite nicely. The Sydney resident stays true to the main themes, making for a deep yet invigorating eight minute journey. A lovely remix from Marley which rounds out a great first release of the year for Stellar Fountain. Don't miss it.
