Temporarily Unknown – Blue Smoke [Stellar Fountain]

Stellar Fountain welcomes Temporarily Unknown to the label for their debut single entitled 'Blue Smoke'. Ahmed El Touny & Shady Sabry hail from Egypt and make up the Temporarily Unknown production team. Having previously appeared on label affiliate Astrowave they now deliver a new single for Stellar Fountain entitled 'Blue Smoke' alongside remixes from Bablak and Francisco Garcia Devrient.

There’s always been something special brewing in Egypt and Temporarily Unknown are further proof that the progressive house scene is alive and well. On 'Blue Smoke' they craft a rough, chugging groove which sits as an anchor as phasing rhythms and vibrant hats push the momentum forward. Dark stabs add an air of electricity before the piece breaks down into a hopeful break led by vocal pads and emotive chord changes. A definite nod to the classic sound of the genre, you'll no doubt be hearing a lot more about this duo in the future.

First up on the remixes is Bablak who last appeared on the label in April with a remix of 'I'm Sorry But I'm Back in 1973' by Gians. The Russian artist lowers the tempo for a deeper, more introspective take on the track. The emotional power it carries it’s quite exceptional as the chord changes connect with the gritty character for the ultimate sonic contrast. Likely one of the best productions from Bablak to date and one that belongs in every true progressive house aficionado's collection.

The release concludes with Francisco Garcia Devrient making his debut following four outings for label affiliate Astrowave. The Argentinean artist is fresh off an EP for BC2 in March and now steps up to Stellar Fountain for his first remix. Francisco also lowers the tempo a touch for a deep, groovy affair which makes great use of the vocal elements. The break in particular is hauntingly beautiful, with layer upon layer of texture and voice transferring energy into a powerful third act finale. A gorgeous remix from Francisco Garcia Devrient which rounds out another exciting release for Stellar Fountain. Don’t miss it.
