Releases TD & Terje Saether – The Late Escape [Manual Music] By Release Promo Posted on 22nd March 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest from Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music finds Terje Saether collaborating with TD on a gorgeous new single. As two of Norway’s finest electronic musician’s Terje and TD have had impressive solo careers, highlighted by appearances on Connaisseur Recordings, Hope Recordings, ICONYC and PHW Elements. Now coming together the duo present ‘The Late Escape’ alongside remixes from Praveen Achary and Qbical. The original mix is highly memorable from the first airing and thus destined to be something that’s still listened to years from now. It’s sleek, melodic framework is warm, joyous and highly emotive; setting the perfect backdrop for TDs stunning vocal to work its magic. Quite scenic sounding in a way, it’s not hard to fall into a long daydream listening to this gorgeous slice of progressive house. Definitely one for the coming spring / summer season and no doubt one you’ll be hearing a lot. Praveen Achary supplies the first remix and makes his much anticipated Manual Music debut in the process. The Indian artist and Juicebox Music label boss has shaped an impressive discography since first appearing on the scene in 2009. His output always seems perfectly planned to tactfully build a career without falling into the trap of taking on too many projects. A difficult thing to navigate at times and it’s always been something I’ve admired looking over Praveen’s discography. He’s made a great project choice here once again as he puts a clubbier twist on the track with a reworked groove and fresh electronics. The arpy low end ripples wonderfully, creating oodles of swing while a sparser framework lets the strong rhythmic elements wrap nicely around the groove. The vocals are teased to an extent over the first act, adding a hazy emotive quality, perfectly foreshadowing the full complement to come in a stunning final act. A brilliant remix from Praveen who continues to be one of the most astute progressive house talents in the underground. Closing the release out is Manual Music artist Qbical who is another personal favourite of mine. The Dutch producer is widely known for being creative, quirky and capable of a wide variety of sonic tapestries. On his ‘The Late Escape’ interpretation Qbical goes for a smooth, emotive approach with uplifting synth work and some killer chord changes on the low end. It's a striking mix and one which is less proggy than Praveen's, opening it up to a melodic techno dance floor in the process. For the less vocally inclined there is also a dub with the same ultra smooth flow and striking synth elements. Perhaps a mix to set up the vocal version for the more adventurous Djs out there. A stunning release from Manual Music with memorable vocals and melodies, if you like timeless, emotive electronic music then this certainly belongs in your collection. Highly recommended.
