Robert R. Hardy – Aestas (The Remixes) [Superordinate Music]

Superordinate Music returns this week showcasing two brand new interpretations of ‘Aestas’ by Robert R. Hardy. Originally released in April of 2017 as part of the ‘Emotions’ EP it showcased a deeper, more emotive side of the Hungarian artist. Still a standout on his and the label’s discography more than a year later, it now gets overhauled by two of the scenes brightest talents in GMJ and Pacco & Rudy B.

GMJ is one of progressive music’s true savants. His storytelling style has etched nearly 200 production credits over his decade long career. Highlighting his discography are releases on the scenes most esteemed imprints, from Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music to Cid Inc’s Replug Records. Now returning to Superordinate for his second appearance the Australian artist goes deep and dreamy for a superb rendition of ‘Aestas’. Backed by a warm spacious groove it's fluid framework gets surrounded with wispy effects and radiant atmospheres. Breeding both emotive and astral qualities, it's an intoxicating environment, eventually coming to full fruition during a hazy harmonic break. A cosmic masterpiece from GMJ and one you'll want to get lost in for much longer than its nine minute running time.

The second and final interpretation of ‘Aestas’ is provided by Pacco & Rudy B who are returning to the label for their fourth appearance. The Croatian duo and Mallam label bosses have been busy recently with remixes on SoulArt Recordings and Yang released just last week. Consummate pros that they are the quality never wanes no matter what the workload and they deliver another stellar interpretation here. The duos penchant for warm, melodious grooves is on full display here, as a wealth of dulcet hooks and swirling atmospherics quickly burrow into your subconscious. Uniquely constructed, the second act plays out over two breaks and a stripped down bridge, building anticipation while keeping your emotional centres flooded, before effortlessly shifting energy into a gorgeous finale. Another rousing remix from two of Croatia's finest, which rounds out one of Superordinate Music's best releases all year. Highly recommended.
