MiraculuM – Thumptation [Golden Wings Music]

Golden Wings Music opens the Spring season by welcoming MiraculuM to the label for his debut EP. The Hungarian artist and Stellar Fountain label boss has been relatively quiet to start 2019, following what was one of his most prolific years in 2018. The new year has yielded two well received remixes for Massive Harmony Records and Spring Tube Limited. Now presenting his first original project of 2019 he debuts on Golden Wings Music with the two track EP 'Thumptation'.

Miraculum's creativity never ceases to amaze and he's crafted to more compelling productions here, beginning with the title selection 'Thumptation'. Backed by bulbous beats and a warm, full bodied groove comes playful rhythms and organic percussion. It’s powerful drive is charged with both funk and momentum, while a tasteful complement of swirling atmospheres and buzzing electronics create a colourful, cosmic feel. Haunting vocal pads initiate the main break as it flows further into a cosmic vortex, before the beats drop for a clean re-entry and groovy finale.

The companion piece 'Krakatau' comes in a touch deeper and equally excellent. The low end immediately stands out with it's warmth, shape and great character. What follows however is truly brilliant as a maze of trippy electronics, almost glassy in nature, slowly collect around the framework as a gentle atmospheric resonance continues to rise. Smooth chord changes add a mystical charm to the proceedings, before eventually melting down into a sensory saturating break, perfectly setting the stage for more esoteric moments in a heady third act finale. I would say this easily rates as one of Miraculum's most creative works to date and one you'll want to listen to several times over. It rounds out what is a great Golden Wings debut for the Hungarian artist and Stellar Fountain boss. Highly recommended.
