MiraculuM – Cradlearms [Stellar Fountain]

MiraculuM presents his much anticipated follow up to ‘Positron’ entitled ‘Cradlearms’. In a year filled with releases on ICONYC and Soundteller Records, the Hungarian artist returned to his own Stellar Fountain imprint in May with ‘Positron’. Now following a remix for Alfonso Muchacho and Clinique Recordings, MiraculuM lands on Stellar Fountain once again with a new single alongside remixes from Andrew Case and Riamiwo.

The majority of MiraculuM’s tracks come with very distinctive themes and so to does ‘Cradlearms’. There’s something a touch oriental about it and that’s where the mystical vibe comes from. It’s big and beefy on the low end with bulbous kicks and a full, warm groove laying claim to a place on the dance floor. The second act is really well constructed, stripping down to a point where the main theme shines and eventually gets washed over by a pitch shifting vocal that perfectly sets up a massive drop. Huge track from MiraculuM.

It would be hard to top that original mix but the remixes do a great job at putting a different slant on it. First up is Andrew Case who overhauls the framework into something less grandiose and more delicate sounding. The intricate innerworkings really shine and the harmonic flow is lovely, very fresh and unpredictable, particularly during the break where it’s subtle shifts lead perfectly into a purring finale.

The release concludes with Riamiwo making his label debut following strong offerings on Hydrogen, Strange Town Recordings and Traum. The German artist up the tempo and crafts a delightfully melodic interpretation. The low end stands out with it’s fuzzy character, subtle modulation and classic chord changes, while the main theme comes to full fruition during a moderately tense break. A feel good rework from Riamiwo that rounds out a brilliant release for Stellar Fountain and another great addition to MiraculuM’s awesome discography.
