Liam Sieker – Another Feeling [Soundteller Records]

Liam Sieker makes his much anticipated Soundteller debut with 'Another Feeling'. A well known DJ in Australia's nightlife, the Melbourne resident is a regular at trendy spots such as Killing Time, Loop Bar, Railway Hotel and Australia's world famous Revolver Upstairs. Also an accomplished producer, the last calendar year has seen Liam showcase his music on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Beat & Path and onedotsixtwo. Now stepping up for his first appearance on Soundteller, Liam presents a new single alongside remixes from Ian Dillon and Silinder.

Beginning with the original mix we find Liam crafting a deeper progressive sound. Anchored by a warm shapely groove and nice percussive details, it’s a series of icy overlays and rolling rhythms that begin to advance the narrative. Clocking in at nearly ten minutes in length the journey-esque feel of the track can't be overstated, relying heavily on micro moments as opposed to big prominent ones. Progressively more emotive, a spiralling arp and ghostly phrases unite for an otherworldly vibe, before eventually opening up into a glowing break and heady finale.

The first interpretation of 'Another Feeling' is provided by Ian Dillon who returns to the label for his second appearance. The UK artist made his debut on the Polish imprint in 2017 with a remix of Danidu & Subandrio's 'Monsoon'. Now following 2020 releases on Another Life Music and onedotsixtwo, Ian lands back on Soundteller with a peak time take on 'Another Feeling'. Driving and punchy from the outset, it’s tough groove carries a rolling presence as electric designs, vocal overlays and waves of percussion fill in the framework. Gaining momentum across the first act, lively arps add nicely to it's energetic feel before eventually melting down into a spacious break and epic final movement.

Rounding out the release is Silinder who provides the second and final interpretation of 'Another Feeling'. As a veteran of the progressive scene, the Irish artist lays claim to an impressive discography, highlighted by releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Antrim's Or Two Strangers and Proton Music. Having also been a mainstay of the Soundteller roster, Silinder now makes a welcome return with a groovy take on 'Another Feeling'. Anchored by a warm, nicely contoured groove, there’s a smooth and effortless vibe from the outset. As drifting atmospheres descend over the framework, sweeping effects and tranquil motifs further tantalize the senses. A stripped down bridge in the first act does wonders to introduce new percussive elements, before the main break resets the groove for a purring finale. Dreamy stuff as always from Silinder, capping off another well rounded offering from Deersky's Soundteller Records. Don't miss it.
