Featured small Releases Li-Polymer – Broken Machine [Asymmetric Recordings] By Release Promo Posted on 4th November 2017 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings returns this week by welcoming Li-Polymer back to the label for his debut single. The Portuguese artist first appeared on the Israeli imprint in September of 2016 with a remix of 'Nefertiti' by Denny Loco. EP's on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Movement Recordings and ICONYC remain discography highlights and now Li-Polymer caps off a successful 2017 with 'Broken Machine' alongside remixes from Marten Sundberg and John Cosani. The detail and depth of Li-Polymer's work continues to impress with 'Broken Machine'. Silky smooth from the outset, the piece is built around a rippling foundation, haunting vocal phrases, playful yet deeply moving melodies and a rhythmic cadence that's infectious. In terms of pure emotion it might be Li-Polymer's strongest production to date in fact. The melodic narrative after the break is truly spectacular, subtle yet constantly evolving, eventually leading to a glowing, goosebump worthy third act. Just excellent progressive house from Li-Polymer. The first interpretation on the release is provided by Marten Sundberg who is making his label debut. The German producer and Kompakt artist is known for his deeper, techno inspired creations and he's taken 'Broken Machine' into that wonderful world here. Tailored to perfection the spacious, pulsating groove is a delight while the melodic elements get utilized wonderfully for a meditative, cosmic trip. A stellar remix from one of the underground's most underrated artists. The release concludes with John Cosani returning to the label for his fifth appearance. The Argentinean artist is been a primary contributor for the Israeli imprint since making his debut in April of 2016. Also owning releases on Movement Recordings and ICONYC, John remains one of Argentina’s foremost progressive house talents. Here he closes the release out in style with a peak time interpretation of ‘Broken Machine’. There’s a great character overall here, very effervescent and mashy sounding, no doubt perfect for an up for it dance floor. The tension in the main break is enormous, building in a waves before ultimately culminating with a rush of quirky sonics and white noise. This is a monster and one that would sit perfectly in the sets of Nick Warren or Hernan Cattaneo. Massive release from Lonya’s Asymmetric Recordings who continue to be one of the most consistent labels around.
