INNERPHONIC – Our Groove [Faraway Scope]

Innerphonic begins the new year returning to their Faraway Scope imprint with 'Our Groove'. The Belgian duo of Mad Gregor and Marc Denuit make up the Innerphonic duo, establishing the moniker in 2018 with a string of releases via Caravelle. 2020 proved to be a prolific year for duo, in addition to creating Faraway Scope, Innerphonic showcased their music via 3rd Avenue, Caravelle and Massive Harmony Records. Now continuing that momentum into 2021, the duo return to their comfortable home of Faraway Scope with a two track EP.

Beginning with 'Organic' the duo explores their powerful progressive sound with a warm, groovy creation that’s sure to get your dance floor moving. Waves of undulating bass power the foundation while clattering percussion, fragmented vocals and icy overlays surround the framework. Racing towards the main break, smooth chord changes and and luminous tones steal the air, perfectly setting up a cinematic centrepiece and exhilarating finale.

Rounding out the release is the title selection ‘Our Groove’ which serves as a nice complement to it's predecessor. Backed by a buoyant and well contoured groove, it’s bounce and drive quickly become infectious. Ominous sweeps and trailing effects offset each other nicely, as romping rhythms build momentum across the first act. Leading into the main break a catchy arp ups the energy once more, as layers of effects build tension on wards to a powerful crescendo and groovy drop. It caps off a superb return to Faraway Scope for Innerphonic, who enter the new year with a very strong release. Highly recommended.
