Fredek Lev – The Revenant [Port 81 Records]

Port 81 Records continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Fredek Lev back to the label for a new single. Hailing from Santiago de Cali, the Colombian artist is one of the founding members of Port 81 and he returns to the label following the release of his 'Introspective' single in September of 2018. Now following a period of inspiration and re-invigoration, Fredek presents 'The Revenant' alongside a remix from David San.

The original mix leads the release off with a driving, electric sensibility that's nicely geared for peak time play. Backed by a buzzing groove and waves of fiery percussion comes piercing stabs and astral aesthetics. Subtle modulation plays across the first act, heightening the senses before a well timed break shifts energy into a cosmic finale.

The lone interpretation of 'The Revenant' is provided by David San who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Psicodelica label boss first appeared on the Colombian imprint in February of 2019 with a remix of 'Vacio' by Lemus. Now following a contribution to the La Pera Records 'Carnival 2020' collection, David lands back on Port 81 with a tech house rendition of 'The Revenant'. Smooth and rolling from the outset, the Colombian artist builds an evolving narrative through timely effects and mind bending modulation. It's buoyant low end and bouncy percussion keeps things firmly on the dance floor, before one final break delivers just the right amount of tension for a rousing conclusion. A powerful remix from David which caps off a well rounded release for Port 81 Records. Don't miss it.
