False Intentions – Your Given Me EP [Deepwibe Underground]

Deepwibe Underground's third release of 2019 finds label artist False Intentions returning for a brand new EP. Having previously delivered two projects for the Russian imprint, the UK artist now follows up support from Sasha, Guy J and a long list of electronic music luminaries with a new EP entitled 'Your Given Me'.

For artist best known for progressive house and melodic techno this ends up being quite a diverse selection of music from False Intentions. Beginning with the title track the UK artist explores peak time sensibilities through meaty beats, powerful drums and charged rhythms. Emotive vocal motifs coupled with smooth chord changes makes for a soulful and evolving storyboard. It’s a production which comes from the heart, one to cherish for special occasions and no doubt a highly memorable selection for a variety of sets.

The remaining two cuts further diversify the EP with 'Favelas' bringing deeper grooves and darker undertones. Punchy and powerful from the outset it's a storyboard which evolves through subtle shades and vibrant rhythms. It's hypnotic leanings are a welcome trait which gets accentuated beautifully with ghostly vocal fragments and a short but powerful break which is sure to command the full attention of your dance floor.

The release concludes with 'Spiritual Awakening' which likely carries the biggest presence of the three. Dark and driving, it's rippling groove proves quite infectious, while a myriad of electric stabs and and cosmic creativities adorns the framework. The second of two break shifts the mood into further into ominous territory with subtle modulation and striking themes, the latter of which does wonders to build tension before melting down into a powerful drop. It rounds out three superb compositions from False Intentions with the more stripped back 'Favelas' perhaps garnering the most interest from top tier DJs. Highly recommended.
