Releases E.F.G. & Acidani – Mosaic [Stellar Fountain] By Release Promo Posted on 12th March 2021 8 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin E.F.G. returns to Stellar Fountain with a new EP 'Mosaic' alongside remixes from Balad and Kommodo. Polish producer Oleg Szyszkin otherwise known as E.F.G. last appeared on Stellar Fountain in 2015 with his 'Make It Count' single, while also making contributions to the label's subsidiaries. Now a regular on Proton's Particles, Balkan Connection South America, Electronic Tree and Massive Harmony Records, E.F.G returns to Hungary's finest imprint with a two track showcase. The title track sees E.F.G. collaborating with Acidani on a timeless slice of melodic techno. Built around an acid fuelled groove and dubby tones it presents a smooth hypnotic quality from the outset. Bright percussion and a buoyant tonal theme provides a lovely bounce to the framework, eventually leading to a break of esoteric chord changes which ultimately spearhead an atmospheric finale. The companion piece 'Nailed It' follows suit perfectly with more acid tinged lines and captivating percussive grooves. The difference here is a cross cultural theme which eventually takes centrestage, adding depth and musicality across the first act, as placid pads rise into the main break and on wards to an acid fuelled drop and glowing conclusion. Making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'Mosaic' is Balad. Based in Australia, the Sydney residents' sound has flourished, finding a home on Balance Music, Beatfreak Recordings, Where The Heart Is and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. 'Mosaic' is certainly an interesting track for him to remix and the results are quite spectacular. In adding greater atmosphere and cosmic sounding arps, Balad has not only kept it's acidic underbelly intact but added an astral lean to the production which captivates every step of the way. Rounding out the release with the lone interpretation of 'Nailed It' is Kommodo who also makes his label debut. The Brazilian artist is perhaps best known for his releases via Morttagua's Timeless Moment where he has released five original productions since 2017. Now following an EP for Time Code Music to end 2020, Kommodo presents his first production of 2021 via Stellar Fountain. Staying true to the framework of the Original Mix, the Brazilian artist provides a trippier take with eerie arps percolating in and out of the stereo field. It makes for a tense first act and in the process perfectly sets up a memorable break where the lead theme appears against a backdrop of hopeful pads, before shifting back to the dark, character filled rumbles of the acid tinged groove. An amazing remix from Kommodo which rounds out an excellent return to Stellar Fountain for E.F.G. Highly recommended.
