Antrim & Luis Bondio - Baby Blue [Or Two Strangers]

The 14th release on Or Two Strangers finds Antrim and Luis Bondio collaborating on a brand new single. The Argentinean duo have been frequent studio partners over the years while also watching their solo careers flourish. Releases on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings, Sound Avenue and Luis' own Classound Recordings remain discography highlights. Now pairing up for the first time on Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint the duo present their latest studio creation 'Baby Blue' alongside remixes from Subandrio & Nikko.Z.

Past collaborative efforts from Antrim and Luis have yielded some amazing dance floor records and 'Baby Blue' is yet another to add to the list. Funky, spacious and quirky it's borderless approach is fresh and dynamic. Billowing bass stabs, meandering atmospheres and a timeless musicality highlight the first act before a cinematic break transitions the piece to a groovy finale.

The first interpretation of 'Baby Blue' is provided by Subandrio who is making his label debut. Much like Antrim and Luis, the Sri Lankan artist has enjoyed much success in recent years. Released in early 2015, his debut EP for Cid Inc’s Replug Records paved the way for his rugged sound, as he then went on to appear on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Subandrio's pure progressive sound has complemented the 'Baby Blue' original wonderfully. A more atmospheric and trippy take on the elements has led to a decidedly cosmic sounding creation. From its full bodied groove and squelchy synths to acid tones and a spiritual break it's a feast for the senses and perfectly story-boarded over nine magical minutes.

The second and final interpretation of 'Baby Blue' is provided by Nikko.Z who is making his first appearance on the label. In a year spent retooling his sound the Greek artist has showcased his unique sonic approach through releases on Movement Recordings, Proton Music and his own Dopamine Music imprint, all of which earned acclaim from Hernan Cattaneo. Now making his much anticipated debut on Or Two Strangers Nikko provides an excellent rendition of 'Baby Blue' taking it effortlessly from progressive to techno and beyond. Backed by a chugging, club friendly groove and firing percussion it's not long before a momentous wave of energy hits you. Trippy motifs and bulbous bass tones highlight the first act before eventually breaking down into an ethereal lead theme and heady conclusion. A super remix from Nikko and another top shelf offering from Antrim's Or Two Strangers imprint.
