Releases Alfonso Muchacho – Reflection Pool [Astrowave] By Release Promo Posted on 1st February 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Alfonso Muchacho returns to Astrowave this week with ‘Reflection Pool’. The UK artist first appeared on the Stellar Fountain affiliate in May of 2016 with a remix of ‘Immerse Into The Beauty of Nature’ by Tomin Tomovic. Alfonso now returns with his first single for the label alongside remixes from Paul Kardos and SNYL. The DJ support leading up to the release has been quite strong and this seems to be a trend with much of Alfonso’s work of late. ‘Reflection Pool’ is classically styled progressive house chugger with warm overtones and sweeping atmospherics. It’s driving groove is timeless for the genre and the harmonics leading into the break are positively glowing. The centrepiece advances the narrative further into emotive territory with a main melodic theme that perfectly complements the sweeping harmonics. Paul Kardos has also been hot of late with 2017 releases on Perspectives Digital and Soundteller Records. Now following an excellent remix on PHW Elements Paul makes his Astrowave debut with an excellent remix of ‘Reflection Pool’. The energy comes up a touch with a robust and rugged groove which provides the perfect foundation for rolling arps and driving percussion. Void of any traditional ‘main break’ the tracks second act gets flanked by two short transitional breaks which serve to raise energy without losing any flow. Definitely one for a peak time dance floor. The release concludes with SNYL otherwise known as Reelaux making his label debut. The Hungarian artist debuted the new alias in December with a remix of Kamilo Sanclemente released courtesy of SoulArt Recordings. Now for just his second offering under the moniker SNYL provides a deeper rendition of ‘Reflection Pool’. The groove gets broken up nicely as thicker slabs of bass carve out a spacious foundation while crisp percussion and fresh electronics fill in the framework. It’s dubby nature sits as a great complement to the previous two versions and the melancholic pads bring an altogether different emotion. Lovely stuff from SNYL which rounds out one of Astrowave’s most sought after releases to date.
