Adam Ten & Demaor – Ocean Depths [Beat Boutique]

Adam Ten & Demaor debut on DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique with the 'Oceans Depths' EP. Hailing from Tel Aviv, these are the duo's first ever collaborations and look to kick start their careers with the help of an excellent remix from Amarcord.

Beginning with the title track, the Israeli duo explore deep grooves and quirky designs. Fluid and rhythmic it's unpredictable storyboard is both contemporary and exciting. A bevy of unique transitions combined with shifts in cadence and an astral narrative makes for a hugely satisfying seven minute jaunt. The companion piece 'Multicolor' comes with a bit more of a progressive vibe yet still fresh and modern sounding. It's rolling low end quickly becomes infectious as vocal fragments, piano clusters and chord stabs unite in perfect sonic harmony.

The release concludes with Amarcord providing the lone interpretation of 'Ocean Depths'. The Italian artist is best known for his collaborations with Speaking Minds, where the trio have landed releases on Aeon, Correspondant and Watergate Records. Now debuting on Beat Boutique he provides an inspired take on 'Ocean Depths'. On a bed of perfectly sculpted break beats comes mystical designs, emotive bass swells, ghostly vocals and an ethereal top line which seals it's cosmic appeal. Incredibly fresh sounding and a perfect complement to the original as well, it rounds out a classy release for DJ Zombi's Beat Boutique in fine style. Highly recommended.
