Sergey Muzarks – Radiance EP [Soundteller Records]

Sergey Muzarks gets 2021 off to a promising start with his third and much anticipated Soundteller Records EP. 2020 saw the Russian artist release two projects via the Polish imprint, while also showcasing his music on Freegrant and Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev’s Outta Limits imprint. Now continuing to expand on his progressive minded sound, Sergey presents his 'Radiance' EP to begin the new year.

Beginning with the title cut Sergey crafts a melodic slice of progressive house. Free and flowing from the outset, its rolling low end is powered with mountainous bass tones while clattering percussion and wispy effects fill in the framework. Metallic melodies, cosmic arps and warm atmospheres rise across the first act, smoothly shifting energy into the main break, where cinematic pads and warm swells unite for a powerful crescendo and driving drop.

The companion piece ‘Lost World’ caps off the EP with a similarly groovy ethos. Once again backed by a well carved foundation, it’s a wave of detailed percussion and liquid-like melodies which push momentum forward. Tranquil arps rise, adding a smooth rhythmic quality, while soulful vocal pads and emotive chord changes segue into the break. As the centrepiece evolves so to does it’s emotional appeal, eventually melting down to a warm glow as the beats drop for a groovy final act. It rounds out a stunning two track offering from Sergey Muzarks, who makes an excellent return to Soundteller Records to begin the year. Highly recommended.
