Ricardo Piedra – Endless Summer [Dreamers]

Fernando Ferreyra's Dreamers welcomes Ricardo Piedra to the label for his debut EP 'Endless Summer'. The Hungarian artist first arrived on the electronic scene in 2015 with techno and tech house releases on Krata, Electrified Mindz and Vortex Recordings. Eventually evolving into more of a progressive house artist, Ricardo has gone on to record music for Balkan Connection, Bonzai Progressive, Massive Harmony Records, PHW Elements and Stellar Fountain. Now landing on Dreamers for the first time, Ricardo presents a three track artist showcase entitled 'Endless Summer'.

Beginning with the title cut Ricardo presents a deeper, more organic vibe than some of his more progressive oriented work. Smooth and rhythmic throughout, it's poignant lead theme and haunting overlays unite for what is a strong emotional narrative. Quite simple but deadly in terms of effectiveness and no doubt one that's perfectly geared for an open air event. The second selection 'Volcano' follows suit with a similar sonic profile, however it's a loop of gorgeous vocal fragments, cascading lines and poignant tones which make this incredibly impactful. Full of colour and emotion, it's a bright, buoyant journey which hits you straight in the heart. The release concludes with the equally stunning 'Bambusa' which again delivers many heartfelt moments. A piano motif and childlike vocal narrative work incredibly well together, before a kaleidoscopic theme runs through the second half the break, perfectly setting up a gorgeous finale. It caps off what is likely Ricardo's most accomplished and emotive work to date, also fitting that it comes courtesy of Ferreyra's Dreamers imprint, who continue to make waves in the dreamy, deep house underground. Highly recommended.
