Based in the USA, Yahra is a rising talent in the deeper realm of electronic music. With an affinity for crafting lush cinematic soundscapes, the Phoenix resident has spent the last few years honing his craft as a musician, taking creative inspiration from his love for traveling to picturesque spots around the world. First emerging in 2021 with a contribution to Re:Sound’s popular ‘Selects’ series, Yahra’s path forward would see him add 3rd Avenue, Flug Lab, Tales of Romance and The Purr to his resume, all while receiving support from world class DJs such as Eelke Kleijn, Joris Voorn and Nick Warren, amongst others. With 2024 getting underway with a pair of remix projects, Yahra now adds Movement Limited to his resume with a two-track showcase entitled ‘Inner Side’. Beginning with the title selection Yahra finds a perfect balance between dancefloor energy and emotive musicality. Full of uplifting qualities, the Phoenix resident expertly blends punchy kick drums and warm rolling grooves, with soulful vocal phrasing and luminous melodic motifs for a smooth rush of energy leading into the break. Further revealing his creative attitude across the interlude, Yahra expands the vocal narrative amidst waves of colour, texture and melody, before a wave of arps and wispy effects cues a strong drop and key-changing finale. Rounding out the release are the mesmerizing sounds of ‘Keeping the Dream Alive'. Looking to bring greater depth to this portfolio, Yahra flexes yet another side of his studio repertoire here, with a deeper hypnotic mood that feels perfectly dialed for morning play. Plush chord stabs and delicate melodic structures steal the air, resonating beautifully against layers of finely tuned percussion and icy pads, before a series of heavenly vocal wails and a serene break foreshadow a finale that is equal parts uplifting and emotive.
