Transensations opens the month of September by welcoming Ortus to the label for his debut EP 'Lua'. Hailing from Brazil, Giovanni Delgado began his production as part of the Brainkillerz duo, before eventually coining the Ortus moniker in 2019 for his solo efforts. As a professor of music production, Giovanni is also an accomplished DJ, having played some of Brazil's most highly regarded venues such as D-Edge, 5uinto and Clash Club. Now he continues his journey into melodic house and techno as Ortus with his first appearance on Transensations alongside remixes from Binaryh and Pedrada.

Setting the tone for the release are the mystical sounds of the title selection. Crisp, detailed percussion, haunting vocal elements and acidic stabs marry well across a DJ friendly intro. Warm bass swells sit comfortably at the foundation, gently pushing momentum forward as the vocal narrative continues to evolve with trippy gates and ghostly overlays. The main break proves quite emotive with soulful wails smoothly segueing into a tight drum roll and classy crescendo, as the beats drop for an acid laced finale. Adding further depth and accompanying 'Lua' are the cosmic sounds of 'Arcanjos'. Once again powered by a tough yet warm groove and clever vocal edits, Ortus flexes his production prowess with pristine effects and icy wails dominating a well constructed break, only to perfectly shift energy into a deep and thumping final act.

Also making their label debut are Binaryh who provide the lone interpretation of 'Lua'. The Brazilian duo are mainstays in the melodic house and techno underground, with releases coming courtesy of Be Free Recordings, Timeless Moment and Steyoyoke. No stranger to support from electronic music's premiere tastemakers, Binaryh has earned the praise of Tale of Us, Adriatique, Fideles, Fur Coat, Nicole Moudaber and Kevin de Vries. Now following remix projects for Astral Records, Dear Deer and Prisma Techno, Binaryh debut on Transensations with a powerful rendition of 'Lua'. The tempo comes up a notch with a rippling, machine gun style groove powering the foundation, as nicely manicured percussion and a reprocessed take on the vocals adding depth and space. For as dark as the underbelly feels there's a hopeful quality locked inside the swirling atmospheres and mind-bending effects, which ultimately come to a poignant apex as the main break unfolds. The duo wisely pull back for a stripped style drop however, one which should light up even the most discerning dance floors.

The release concludes with label manager Pedrada providing the lone interpretation of 'Arcanjos'. Based in Sao Paulo, Pedro Rosa aka Pedrada has been crafting his amalgamation of progressive house and astral techno for the better part of four years. Transensations has been the primary home for his emotive creations while also making stops on Cactunes Records, Clash Music and Native Wolf Records. Always a creative remixer, the Brazilian now lands back on his home label with a gorgeous take on 'Arcanjos'. There's a lot to like here, and while it draws direction from the original the journey is one of it's own. The main melodic theme sounds absolutely fabulous as it weaves it's way through a forest of percussive flurries and fragmented effects. Not lost though is the poignant appeal of the original, which might actually resonate to greater effect here, as evidenced by a cinematic style break that fully saturates your senses on wards to a spirited finale. An inspired remix from Pedrada once again which caps off a welcome label debut for Ortus, an artist who continues to rise in the world of melodic house and techno. Highly recommended.
