Ziger – Humanism [Afterglow]

The latest release from Germany's Afterglow finds the perpetually hot Ziger making his label debut with 'Humanism'. The Greek artist has been enjoying the best year of his career, led by his ‘Faded Realm’ single which launched his Eat My Hat imprint and enjoyed a month long stay a top Beatport’s Progressive House Hype tracks chart. The Athens resident quickly followed that up with two Beatport Top 10 remixes of Nosh & SJ and Kenan Savrun, both of which carry the Eat My Hat stamp. Also laying claim to 2019 releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Eleatics Records, Ziger now debuts on Afterglow with a much anticipated new single.

‘Humanism’ finds Ziger at his creative best with a smooth, hypnotic production that’s nicely dialled for the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, machine gun style groove anchor the piece, as tonal motifs, astral arps and ominous vocal fragments adorn the framework. Raw yet warm, it's power is undeniable, building momentum with each successive pass as percussive splashes initiate the main break. Panning vocal snips and tasteful modulation carry the centrepiece, elevating tension before a dominate drum roll sparks an exhilarating finale. In a year where Ziger can do no wrong he betters himself once again with 'Humanisn', furthering the sentiment that he is one of progressive music's brightest stars of the moment. Highly recommended.
