Gofa – Take Me [Waiting For Apollo]

Waiting For Apollo presents their second release, welcoming Gofa to the label for his debut EP. The Deepwibe Underground affiliate launched in October amidst much praise with a single from HABENSKY. Now continuing that early momentum, the label welcomes Gofa with a three track artist showcase.

Hailing from Russia Pridanov Egor aka Gofa began his journey into music production in 2015. Having found a comfortable home on Baikonur Recordings, Gofa now debuts on Waiting For Apollo with the trendy synth sounds of 'Take Me'. Emotive arps provide the perfect backdrop for an overt vocal narrative. Impassioned and soulful, each phrase hits with a unique feel, while organic drums and shimmering pads add the perfect complement, particularly during a heartfelt break.

The second selection 'Take Me' follows a similar sonic ethos but this time it's a female vocal that leads the narrative. Bubbly arps once again provide a mesmerizing backdrop, building in waves while uniquely tailored drums add a unique cadence. Warm and transcendent, it's the main break which strikes the strongest emotional chord, coming in the tracks final act it's short but impactful build perfectly segues into a rousing finale.

Rounding out the release are the deeper vibes of 'Run Away'. Although following a similar sonic ethos to it's predecessors, this one is a touch more melancholic in mood. This sentiment primarily originates from the arps, which unlike the previous track are a bit more spacious and wonky in design. Once again a female vocal accompanies you on the journey but in a lesser role, thus making for a smoother more reflective piece and a perfect way to cap off a successful Waiting For Apollo debut from Gofa.
