Vanucci – Kalahari [Transensations Records]

The latest release from Transensations Records welcomes Vanucci to the label for his debut single. The Brazilian artist has been pushing a unique brand of tech house since appearing on the scene in 2010. Appearances on LouLou Records, Lo Kik Records and Street King highlight his well kept discography. More recently the Belo Horizonte resident has been exploring a progressive minded sound, ultimately leading to his Transensations Records debut alongside a remix from FMENEZS.

Beginning with the original mix Vanucci's musical history becomes readily apparent as he crafts a dance floor creation for the ages. Built around a warm, rolling groove it’s the melodic narrative which eventually grabs a hold of you. Smooth and emotive, it's tight rhythmic core, fiery percussion and free flowing effects build subtly into a wall of vibrant colour. A well crafted break is the icing on the cake, with a phasing, tension filled build that perfectly sets up a stripped back yet incredibly powerful drop. Definitely one for a peak time dance floor.

The lone interpretation of 'Kalahari' is provided by FMENEZS who returns to the label for his second appearance. The Brazilian artist first appeared on the Brazilian imprint in October of last year with his well received 'Control Your Mind' EP. Also laying claim to releases on Stellar Fountain's Astrowave and Dynamica, the Recife resident now returns to Transensations for his first remix. Beginning with a buoyant kick and galloping groove, the Brazilian artist expertly works in the main themes along with a healthy dose of stunning effects. A near two minute break lies at the core of the piece, slowly melting down to a a bed of buzzing electronics, before smooth chord changes and an effervescent arp lead to a rousing conclusion. A massive remix from FMENEZS which sits as a slightly more progressive minded alternative to the original. It rounds out a top class release from Transensations Record,s who continue to be one of the progressive scenes freshest new imprints. Highly recommended.
