Uncloak – Terrafirme [Timeless Moment]

The latest from Morttagua's Timeless Moment imprint welcomes 'Uncloak' back to the label for their debut EP. The Brazilian duo first appeared on the label with a contribution to the 'Unique Moment' Vol. 1 collection which was released in February of this year. Uncloak now returns for the most anticipated release of their young career with 'Terrafirme'.

Spread out over four tracks the release shows the full range of Uncloak's studio repertoire. Beginning with 'Gayatheia' you get a feel for how the duo creates contrasting moods. Tough, punishing beats and warped sounds set the tone but the main break brings a hopeful vibe with cinematic scapes and poignant motifs. The second selection 'Cratos' is unabashedly epic with one of the biggest builds I think I've heard all year. Definitely more on the techno tip it complements the lead perfectly with its growling swells, grainy percussion and infectious, chugging groove.

The EP's halfway point brings its title and showcase piece 'Terrafirme' which definitely stands out. It's storyboard of wonky synths and wickedly carved grooves are perfectly dialled for the dance floor. Highlighting the track however is an expansive break where the duos crisp design really shines. This one's a monster. The release concludes with 'Cratos' which again drifts closer to techno territory with hypnotic vocal loops, a deep, chugging groove and a festival style break that's sure to light up your dance floor. Uncloak have served notice that they are not only one of the freshest names out of Brazil at the moment but also soon to be a force on the worldwide stage.
