Tom Pavicich – Insight [SLC-6 Music]

D.J. MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music welcomes Tom Pavicich to the label with his new EP, 'Insight.' Hailing from Argentina but now calling Germany home, Tom Pavicich has enjoyed a steady rise since first emerging in 2023 with a release via Starlight Music Group. Noted for his nostalgic take on the progressive genre, the Berlin resident was quickly tipped as a new talent to watch, in turn yielding well-received projects for AH Digital, BC2 and Massive Harmony Records, amongst others. With 2024 wrapping up with ‘Your Voice’, an EP for Progressive House Argentina, Tom now opens his 2025 schedule making his SLC-6 Music debut with ‘Insight’, alongside a remix from Iovino.

The enchanting vibes of the title selection sets the pace for Tom’s sprawling ‘Insight’ collection. Punchy kick drums and precise percussive arrangements lay the foundation for gated vocals and emotive melodies to paint a colourful storyboard, while a full vocal reveal across the break adds a soulful touch for a poignant finale. The lone remix of ‘Insight’ is provided by Iovino who returns to the label following an appearance on the SIX: Stage-19 collection from last year. Staying true to the qualities of the original, but reshaped and rearranged into something new, the Argentinean artist applies some pressure, which makes for a version that is percussive and rhythmic, with just the right amount of atmosphere, the ultimate dancefloor weapon if you will. Selection two ‘Fly Home’ lands with a decidedly deeper and more grooved out approach, as Tom flexes his bassline crafting prowess across the seven minute piece. Mystical atmospheres and cosmic effects highlight a misty top line, continually evolving as woody beats, rolling percussion and spoken word vocals create a club energy that is both hypnotic and confident. Meanwhile, ‘Sugar Rush’ arrives in dimly lit fashion with timeless chord stabs, acidic motifs and dubbed out tones creating a melancholic mood early on. Carrying this mesmerizing hypnotism forward, Tom’s masterstroke is to melt the proceedings down into a cavernous break, one where panning effects and vocal drifts eventually give way to a finale of meandering musical co-actions. The fourth and final original ‘Klingt’ elevates pace and tempo, steering further into shadowy transgressions, while consciously withholding energy as grooves pulse and effects orbit, creating a tension that eventually gets resolved as a break of hazy effects melts down into a finale of quirky synth mutations.
