Teleport-X – Sushi In Japan [Soundteller Records]

The latest release from Soundteller Records finds Teleport-X returning for his debut EP. July of 2018 marked the Argentine's debut on the Polish imprint with a contribution to their popular 'Vibrant Vibeland' series. It's been a prolific year for the Buenos Aires resident with standout releases on BC2, Deepwibe Underground, Droid9 Limited and Polyptych. Now following an EP for Droid9's new Limited division, Teleport-X returns to Soundteller with 'Sushi in Japan'.

Beginning with the groovy sounds of the title cut you get an immediate sense that Teleport-X has once again crafted some excellent progressive music. Tastefully melodic, it’s mallet-like motifs, organic drums and placid atmospheres converge for a gorgeous first act. Hazy harmonics and charming overlays add depth and emotion as the narrative evolves, before segueing into a dreamy break which carries a lovely sense of space and refinement. A smooth build is then executed through glacial sweeps, perfectly setting up an emotive finale.

Capping off the release and continuing it's deeper ethos is 'Kenji Tomoro’. A touch more subversive than it's predecessor, it relies on tight beats, exotic drums and meandering melodies to carry it’s chunky foundation. Blessed with gorgeous musicality, it's perhaps a perfect mid-set piece and one with rhythm and flow to spare. It rounds out two beautiful cuts from Teleport-X who makes an impressive return to Soundteller Records. Highly recommended.
