TD – Everything Goes [Magnitude Recordings]

Francesco Pico's Magnitude Recordings rounds out the year by welcoming TD to the label for his debut single 'Everything Goes'. Tomas Dahl aka TD hails from Oslo, Norway and has become a frequent contributor to the Manual label family, having appeared on Manual Music, MNL and 90watts. Now following quality outings on ICONYC and PHW Elements, TD lands on Magnitude alongside remixes from EANP and Francesco Pico.

TD already boasts a hefty discography filled with vocal creations that are both unique and memorable. 'Everything Goes' is another one to add to that impressive list with its deep, sultry vibe and sleek musicality. Sitting atop a warm, well contoured low end are ghostly atmospheres and dreamy pads, converging for what proves to the perfect environment for TD's heart wrenching vocals to work their magic. A wall of melodic colour marks the high point, as timely chord changes add just the right emotional touch on the road home.

It’s been a remarkable year for Ezequiel Anile and Nicolas Petracca aka EANP. The Argentinean duo took the progressive house underground by storm with a prolific release schedule and steady support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Having made their Magnitude debut with the 'Cubism' EP in June the duo now returns for their first remix on the label. There's something about EANP's groovy sound that resonates incredibly well with progressive music fans and they've nailed that quite nicely once again on their 'Everything Goes' interpretation. Tough, driving and percussive yet still incredibly spacious, it also makes great use of the vocal during the break. Previous to hearing the mix it's not something I would have anticipated given their past work but they've dialed in a refined slice of deep, melodic house here. Another one which is no doubt already finding favour with progressive music's leading guard.

The progressive house underground welcomed back one of its former and now once again current stars in Francesco Pico this year. It's been a great thing not only for older fans of electronic music but new ones who never got to experience his brilliance. Now rounding the year and the release out Francesco delivers a gorgeous rendition of 'Everything Goes'. Warm, rolling and incredibly spacious it's a mix that not only breathes really well but also makes great use of the vocal. A tasteful take on the track from Francesco and one which complements the original really well. It completes what has been a remarkable comeback for the Dutch producer and label this year. Can't wait to see what 2019 holds for Francesco and Magnitude Recordings.
