Sunchain – Rauda feat. Saulius Petreikis [The Purr Music]

The latest release from The Purr Music welcomes Sunchain to the label for their debut single. Hailing from Estonia, the duo fist appeared on the scene in September of last year with their four track 'Santiago' EP courtesy of La Mishka. Other discography highlights included a contribution to Beatfreak's 'Miami' 2019 collection and a recent single for Vesta Records. Now landing on The Purr, Sunchain presents their latest single 'Rauda' alongside remixes from Kenny Hope and Adam Nathan.

Beginning with the original mix, Sunchain’s masterstroke is to collaborate and introduce the sublime instrumentation of Saulius Petreikis. The Lithuanian's soulful strums work in perfect unison against a backdrop of exotic drums, impassioned wails and a lazy, redolent groove. There's a powerful message locked inside this one and it plays out to perfection over an evolving and incredibly concise seven minute journey.

Taking the piece into tech house territory is Kenny Hope who makes his label debut here. The US artist strips the framework down and ups the tempo a touch for a more dance floor inspired take on the track. Fragmented and reprocessed, the main motifs are used sparingly, with an emphasis on rhythm and groove, while appearing at timely intervals for albeit brief but emotive moments.

The release concludes with one of this years most talked about new names in the deep house underground Adam Nathan. The Canadian artist is fresh off a remix for label affiliate RYNTH, while also laying claim to releases on Viva Recordings and False Face Music. Now making his second appearance on The Purr, Adam provides a stunning rendition of 'Rauda'. Deep and meditative, yet soulful and uplifting, it’s a sublime slice of laid back melodic house that is sure to capture the imagination of your dance floor. A sleeker framework along with a stripped down second act make for an interesting storyboard, while an impassioned take on the lead elements allows them ample room to breathe and ultimately work their magic. A gorgeous remix from Adam, who with forthcoming music on Magician On Duty and Sound Avenue, is a name you're going to be hearing a lot more about as 2019 moves forward. Highly recommended.
