Releases Stage Van H – Brand New Day [Just Movement] By Release Promo Posted on 23rd January 2019 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release from Just Movement welcomes Stage Van H back to the label for a brand new EP. Sitting at the core of the Dutch imprints roster, Stage's smooth, melodious sound has become synonymous with the label. Now appearing for his 32nd time Stage presents his 'Brand New Day' EP alongside remixes from Emi Galvan and Govinda. Beginning with the title cut Stage explores the more dramatic side of his studio repertoire. Dark and heady from the outset, it's perfectly sculpted bass stabs and dynamic percussion strike a tense chord. Haunting atmospherics add nicely to the storyboard while esoteric effects and timely fills lead effortlessly into the break. Although short, the centrepiece provides a ghostly interlude which serves to reset the groove before a percussive finale ensues. The companion piece 'Brand New Dawn' follows a very similar sonic ethos, operating as a second version essentially. While the groove and overall vibe remain intact throughout the first act, it's a gentle melodic storyboard which elevates the piece as the breakdown commences. It's subtle beauty then becomes fully realized during a tasteful finale of heavenly clusters and wispy atmospherics. The first interpretation of 'Brand New Day' is provided by Emi Galvan who returns to the label for his third appearance. The Argentinean artist had an amazing 2018 highlighted by releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and Tash's Movement Recordings. Now returning to Just Movement, Emi kicks off 2019 with a superb rendition of 'Brand New Day'. Immediately impactful is the reworked groove; spacious, funky and incredibly buoyant it anchors what is a stunning seven minute journey. Emi has the distinction of working his own vocals into remix projects and he's done so here with remarkable success. Coming to full fruition during the main break it's a charming array of arpeggios, soulful instrumentation and uplifting symphonics that are sure to make for many magical dance floor moments. The release concludes with Govinda providing the second and final interpretation of 'Brand New Day'. The Argentinean artist last appeared on the Dutch imprint in October of last year with a remix of 'Low Red Moon' by Gvozdini. Also laying claim to an EP on Tash's Movement Recordings, Govinda now provides a great rendition of 'Brand New Day' to begin 2019. Fluid and atmospheric from the outset, it doesn't take long to get sucked into its plucky hooks and tranquil arps. Evolving masterfully across its eight minute running time, the composition reaches a tasteful peak during the second of two breaks as the arp opens up for a moment of timely exhilaration. A lovely interpretation from Govinda which caps off another well rounded release for Just Movement. Highly recommended.
