Sam Scheme & TEHb – Prostranstvo [Stellar Fountain]

The latest release from Stellar Fountain finds the label showcasing a fresh collaboration. Now widely regarded as Hungary's premiere progressive house imprint the Stellar crew has paired fast rising Russian artist Sam Scheme with TEHb for the much anticipated single 'Prostranstvo'. Although not a first time collaboration it has been three year since the duo released their 'I Miss You Shadow'. 'Prostranstvo' comes with much anticipation and with two excellent remixes from Sohrab G and Ethereal Mist.

Sam has been dominating the Beatport charts of late with his remix of Beat Maniacs on One Of A Kind being the most recent high flyer. 'Prostranstvo' carries many of the hallmarks you look for in great progressive house. Whether it be it's warm rolling groove, firing percussive cadence or meditative lead line there is a lot to like. Timely modulation combined with a dark overlay brings heavy drama during the break, perfectly setting up a scaled back drop where the percussive elements really shine.

First up on the remixes is Sohrab who makes his label debut following releases on Asymmetric Recordings and PHW Elements. Based in Tehran, the Iranian artist has found a place in the progressive underground with his smooth old school style. His Stellar Fountain debut is perhaps overdue and he's certainly dialled in a superb rendition of 'Prostranstvo'. The tougher edge of the original has been softened while the main elements get reworked into something more fluid, eventually moving through heady modulation and smooth chord changes as boisterous overlays add all the dramatic flair you could ever want.

The release concludes with Ethereal Mist returning to the label for his second appearance. The Colombian artist is fresh off an original and remix for Clubsonica records and he remains one of his country's top progressive house talents. Now returning to Stellar Fountain after a two year absence Ethereal Mist closes the release out with massive rework of 'Prostranstvo'. It's big, rugged low end is immediately appealing, full of great shape and character it serves as the perfect foundation for the dark stabs and kaleidoscopic arps which dominate the higher frequencies. My favourite version on the release and definitely one you might here in a Hernan Cattaneo or Nick Warren set. it rounds out another exciting release from Stellar Fountain that is not to be missed.
