Rafael Cerato debuts on Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music alongside label returnee NekliFF. Hailing from France and the Ukraine respectively, both Rafael and NekliFF have enjoyed measurable success in their solo careers. Having appeared on Diynamic, Systematic and Suara, Rafael remains one of the melodic house scenes most tried and tested artists. Meanwhile, Nekliff has found a home on Beatfreak, Dear Deer and Timeless Moment. Now coming together for a collaborative EP, the duo present 'Warriors' alongside remixes from Sasch BBC & Caspar and Kasper Koman.

The cross pollination of progressive grooves and afro sensibilities remains a steadfast trend in electronic music, with Rafael and NekLiff pulling it off in fine fashion on 'Warriors'. Although not predominately drummy the rhythmic core, exotic percussion and most notably a distinctive vocal chant provide the cross cultural slate, while a bleepy lead theme, growling stabs and kaleidoscopic arp add all the euphoric tension you could ever want. The companion piece 'Marrakesh' follows suit with a spacious yet wonky groove, fragmented vocals and nasally acid of the highest order. A tantalizing lead theme comes in the form of carnival-esque synth motifs, before ultimately reaching a short break for what should be a big moment on your dance floor

The lone interpretation of 'Warriors' is provided by Manual Music label artists Sasch BBC & Caspar. The German duo come off releases for Dear Deer and Madhatter to deliver a mix that is both tastefully twisted and rhythmically buoyant. Reprocessed, the vocal elements sound excellent, adding dynamic, stab-like moments while layers of finely tuned percussion and spacey designs push this further into peak time territory.

The release concludes with one of the progressive scenes brightest stars in Kasper Koman. The Dutch artist has been tipped for some time with a recent release on Guy J’s Lost & Found Records along with past efforts for Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records and Tash’s Movement Recordings. Having appeared twice on label subsidiary MNL, Kasper now debuts on Manual with a gorgeous interpretation of 'Marrakesh' to round our the release. In tremendous fashion Kasper has managed to make use of the quirky elements from the original for what results in a smooth yet funky journey into modern melodic house. Hypnotic at points, particularly during the break, it's an amalgamation of rhythm, groove and sonic sorcery if you will. A stunning remix from Kasper which will no doubt find it's way into the sets of progressive music's top guard.
