Radieux – Building Bridges [Eat My Hat Music]

Continuing to add new talent to their roster, Ziger's Eat My Hat welcomes Radieux to the label for his debut EP. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Slovenian born,artist Radieux has been a fixture at some of the world's premiere clubs and festivals, sharing the stage with John Digweed, Nick Warren, Solomun and more. Upon creating the Radieux alias in 2019, the fast rising artist took his melodic sound to Artessa Music and Chrom Recordings with great success. Now, adding Eat My Hat to his resume, Radieux debuts on the label with a three-track showcase entitled 'Building Bridges'.

EP opener and title selection 'Building Bridges' finds Radieux operating at the peak of his creative powers. Fuelled by rhythm and groove; its warm basslines, smooth rhythms and tight percussive arrangements resonate on a transcendent level. Energetic and melodic across the first movement, Radieux lets the listener relish in groove, as emotive chord changes and delicate arps create a bridge into the main break. Sitting in a poignant yet thought provoking space, a stunning melodic narrative captivates as the interlude evolves, flowing through tasteful modulation, as a flurry of drums sparks a timely drop and charged finale.

Moving forward to selection two Radieux continues his dancefloor minded approach with 'Kommodoo'. Landing with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship, the Serbian plants multiple explosions of serotonin through muscular basslines, machine gun rhythms and gaseous effects. Timeless chord stabs and clever atmospheric co-actions make for a break that is both dynamic and tense, flowing through flickering percussion and filtered effects, before confidently returning to the groove for a sweeping aerial finale.

Rounding out the release are the blissful lines and retro-rhythms of 'On My Way Home'. From mysterious beginnings come pulsating grooves, radiant atmospheres and bubbly arps which captivate leading into the break. Looking to bring greater emotional depth, Radieux reaffirms his musical prowess with heartfelt harmonics and balmy effects which play across the main break, only to be washed away in a timely fashion for a heavenly conclusion.
