Releases Paul Lennar – Room View [Onestar Records] By Release Promo Posted on 26th September 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release on Onestar Records welcomes Paul Lennar to the label for his debut single. With a career that spans almost a decade Paul Lennar has been a prominent figure in Colombia's electronic underground. His progressive minded style has been favoured by Hernan Cattaneo and showcased on Dopamine Music, Baroque Records and Balkan Connection South America. Now presenting just his second production of the year Paul steps up to Onestar with 'Room View' alongside remixes from NuFects and Suntech & Jhonny Lp. Immediately compelling, the original mix leads the release off with a deep chugging groove and hazy atmospheric resonance. Warm undertones, haunting effects and astral lines highlight the first act before stripping down into the main break. Expertly executed the track’s centrepiece builds tension through subtle modulation and flurries of drums, before eventually giving way to a purring, hypnotic finale. A heady production from Paul and one that’s sure to find favour amongst the most discerning progressive house aficionados. The first interpretation of ‘Room View’ is provided by NuFects who return to the label for their third appearance. Hailing from Colombia, Johny Cortez and Carlos Lopez make up the NuFects production duo and have previously appeared on Clubsonica Records, ICONYC and Balkan Connection South America. Now returning to their comfortable home of Onestar the duo provide a stunning interpretation of ‘Room View’. Already favoured by Guy J and Laurent Garnier, Nufects bring a unique deep techno approach to the piece with a full yet inviting groove and waves of hypnotic percussion. Sitting at the heart of the track is a tranquil centrepiece full of emotive qualities, pulling you deeper into it’s mediative drawl before a classy drop ignites a heartfelt finale. The second and final interpretation of ‘Room View’ is provided by Suntech & Jhonny Lp who return to the label for their sixth appearance. Also hailing from Colombia, the duo have been studio partners since 2014 and have found a comfortable home on Onestar where their unique take on progressive music has flourished. Blending trancy motifs with the warm harmonics from the original has worked wonders, making for an exhilarating eight minute journey. The urge to go big with something like this is always there i think but Suntech and Jhonny keep the deep, hypnotic vibe nicely intact, and with a magnificently spaced out interlude it’s bound for more than a few magical dance floor moments. A stunning remix from Suntech and Jhonny which rounds out an excellent release from Onestar Records. An impressive label rising from Colombia’s progressive music hotbed and definitely one to watch going forward. Highly recommended.
