Releases Pablo German – Afterhours [MNL] By Release Promo Posted on 1st December 2017 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Pablo German makes his much anticipated debut on Paul Hazendonk’s MNL imprint this week with ‘Afterhours’. The Argentinean artist has already found a place in the sets of Hernan Catteneo while having his music showcased on Balkan Connection, Movement Recordings and Just Movement. Pablo now presents his two latest creations alongside remixes from Emi Galvin and N'Pot. The title track presents what progressive music fans have come to love about Pablo's productions. Deep groovy bass lines, organic, tribal-infused percussion and indistinct yet highly emotive themes. Dreamy melodies and a free flowing low end converge in perfect harmonic unison, most notably during a gorgeous second act which sits as the emotional centrepiece of the track. Meanwhile 'Flying to BA' offers up a very similar vibe with a fuzzy low end and cascading, rain drop keys. The organic quality is what stands out here, with the phasing atmospheric backdrop remaining a constant. The remixes add a lot to the release especially Emi Galvin who transforms 'Afterhours' into a rolling, dance floor bomb. It's well contoured groove carries remarkable swing while the addition of vocals at key moments add a soulful touch. You can always hear Emi's strong sense of musicality in everything he does and it comes as no surprise with his vocal history and performing in bands. The release concludes with N'Pot making his label debut following releases on One Of A Kind and Northern Lights Music. The Argentinean artist stays quite true to the ethos of 'Flying to BA' but much like Emi he brings the track a touch closer to the dance floor. A sturdier, more traditional framework helps mightily and the nature motifs following the break work incredibly well. There's a peaceful, serene vibe here and it closes the release out with a great feeling. A superb EP from Pablo who continues to be one of the progressive scenes hidden gems.
