Much like the label, the Spanish artist has also taken some time away with his last production being released in July of 2019. Re-invigorated, Oscar now returns with a two track EP entitled 'Laniakea'. Continuing the darker progressive sound he was loved for is the opener 'Looking Galaxies'. Growling synths and techy percussion accent a tough, yet spacious core early on. It's trippy narrative grows tactfully with intriguing designs drifting across the stereo field for a bevy of moments which are both dynamic and hypnotic. The companion piece 'Aero' comes off even more techno inspired with it's compact groove and deliberate percussion. Trippier than it's predecessor, it's percolating layers become quite meditative, effortlessly building as additional rhythmic structures push momentum onwards to a heady finale. Two intelligent sounding pieces of music from Oscar who makes a much welcome return here. Highly recommended.
