Onez!e – Azure (The Remixes) [Superordinate Music]

The latest release from Superordinate Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of Onez!e's 'Azure'. Originally released in June of last year as part of the 'Colours' EP it found the Canadian artist crafting a moody dance floor bomb. Sitting as the lead piece on the EP it proved to be one of Onez!e's most popular productions of the year and now sees new interpretations from Alfonso Muchacho and Highjacks.

First up is Alfonso Muchacho who always seems to be on point and he is here yet again. Utilizing the wispy vocals wonderfully he crafts an ethereal progressive bomb that’s aimed squarely at the dance floor. Following a warm, pulsating first act the piece strips down into a gorgeous break that likely ranks as one of Muchacho’s most poignant storyboards to date. It’s highly emotive and perfectly sets up a finale of smooth chord changes and tepid harmonics.

The second and final interpretation of ‘Azure’ is provided by Highjacks who makes his fourth appearance on the label. The Greek artist is known for his melodic prowess and he demonstrates that here with a lovely rendition of ‘Azure’. Smooth and quirky in equal measure it’s tantalizing arps and chugging groove are immediately infectious. Timely modulation throughout the break provides just the right amount of tension before building to an electronic sizzle as the beats drop for a rousing finale. A stunning interpretation from Highjacks which rounds out an excellent remix edition for Superordinate Music once again.
