Argentinean artist Nicholas Van Orton has long been regarded for his groovy progressive sounds with 2019 yielding some of his best ever productions, most notably his remix of East Cafe's 'Being Kind Is Overrated' and his 'Back To Daylight' collaboration with DJ Paul. Similarly, Mexican artist and Hookah Records boss Hot TuneiK has continued to delight progressive music fans with his deep, organic sound. A lighter release schedule than previous years has made the demand for his music at an all time high with perhaps his most well received offering being a superb remix of Pedro Capelossi's 'Space Camels'. Now coming together for what is a progressive music fans dream collaboration, Nicholas and Hot present their 'Terra / Agua' double a-side release. Beginning with 'Terra' the duo works layers of organic drums over a mountainous, perfectly carved groove. Both artists excel through use of redolent rhythmic themes and their creative synergy has clearly elevated that sentiment here. It's boundless energy is undeniable and with buzzing overlays the first act is truly epic. Neither artist is much for prominent lead themes but the main break does advance the narrative into more melodic territory, with an ethereal motif rising to a gentle crescendo and flowing through an exhilarating final act. The companion piece 'Agua' follows suit with an equally groovy and slightly spacier narrative. Bulbous stabs and astral overlays sit a top what is another warm, robust and perfectly contoured foundation, resulting in an equally inspired eight minute journey. It rounds out two incredible productions from Nicholas and Hot TuneiK, and with support already in from Nick Warren you know it's a release not to miss. Highly recommended.
