Releases Nicholas Van Orton – Artras/Flamas [Balkan Connection South America] By Release Promo Posted on 30th July 2017 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release on Balkan Connection South America finds label boss Nicholas Van Orton back in the spotlight with a brand new EP. The Argentinean veteran is fresh off a remix of Pilato & Yousif for Balkan Connection and has continued to push the freshest talent on his BCSA imprint this year. Now making a much anticipated return to his home imprint Nicholas presents his latest two track offering entitled 'Artras/Flamas'. If you're familiar Nicholas' productions then you're no doubt a fan of his warm, groovy and intricately crafted sound. Beginning with 'Artras', both cuts here offer that and so much more. A chunky groove and plonky melodies grab your attention early before a gnarly lead theme carries the track into the break. Rough, rugged and a touch wonky, the rippling waves play off the tuneful arps for the ultimate contrast before giving way to the groove for a tension releasing drop. Magical stuff from Nicholas. The companion piece 'Flamas' comes in equally brilliant with a warm, fluid foundation and delicate melodic sensibilities. Serene atmospheres set a lovely back drop while poignant motifs slowly enhance the cascading themes. The main break ups the tension just a touch but not at the expense of Nicholas' great flow, merely pushing the modulation along with a stream of white noise for the ultimate rush. Masterfully crafted and a great way to round out the EP. Don't miss it.
