Movemé – Lights | Traumtanz [Clubsonica Records]

Movemé returns to Clubsonica Records for his second and much anticipated project entitled 'Lights / Traumtanz'. Hailing from Frankfurt, Andre Wolf aka Movemé made his debut on the Colombian imprint in September of 2017 with the well received 'Yes I Do' single. The German artist's approach to deeper shades of house remains unique and inspired as he lands back on Clubsonica with a new EP alongside remixes from Dulcet and Gux Jimenez.

Beginning with 'Lights' Movemé's deep sonic palate reaches new depths with haunting pads and soulful vocals. A framework of tight beats, organic drums and fluid rhythms sets the stage for mystical atmospheres and tasteful tones. As the narrative evolves the vocal theme drifts into ghostly refrains, gently descending over the groove while redolent effects add ultrasonic splashes of colour. The companion piece 'Traumtanz' is equally stunning and sits as a perfect companion to 'Lights'. Immediately captivating, its dubbed out tones, indistinct vocal fragments and rolling percussion play off a sultry low end, resulting in an irresistible, hip swinging groove. Undeniably late night, its hypnotic appeal grows subtly, before effortlessly transitioning into a section of tonal creativities, sparking a smooth, percussive final act.

The first interpretation of 'Traumtanz' is provided by Cialin Templeton aka Dulcet who makes his label debut. Hailing from Sligo, the Irish artist's unique blend of techno and trance has landed him releases on John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings, Balkan Connection's BC2 division and Mirabilis Records. Now making his first and much anticipated appearance on Clubsonica, Dulcet takes 'Traumtanz' into cross genre territory with amazing results. Beginning with tough beats and buzzing atmospheres, the energy comes up a touch while layers of percussion build a powerful, free flowing framework. Gentle swells and fragmented vocal gates trail across the groove, before melodic clusters elevate the narrative as the main break commences. Spacey and astral in all the right ways, the centrepiece builds with a cinematic flair, further delivering its cosmic message through poignant musicality, before a rush of beats and drums shifts energy into an atmospheric finale.

The release concludes with Gux Jimenez also making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Traumtanz'. Hailing from Cartagena, the Colombian artist has been pushing his blend of progressive house and trance for over a decade. Releases on Droid9, Nueva and Round Triangle highlight his discography, while his productions have found favour with one of the world's most highly regarded DJs: Armin Van Buuren. Now embarking on the most anticipated remix of his career, Gux provides a unique take on 'Traumtanz' to cap off the release in style. Smooth, pulsating and laced with haunting effects, the creation builds across four acts. With powerful drive the piece transitions into an effervescent break where a maze of electronic clusters and processed vocals deliver both emotion and drama. A poignant moment that resonates deeply, before a warm rush shifts the narrative into a dreamy conclusion. A stunning remix from Gux which rounds out a diverse release for Clubsonica, one that is sure to resonate with a broad spectrum of the world's top DJs.
